Primary Oral Myiasis of Anterior Maxilla in An Intellectually Disabled Female – A Case Report

“Myiasis” is a term used to represent invasion caused by fly larvae that affect organs and tissues of human beings feeds on the host tissue. It rare non-specific pathology varies according species area body involved. Various factors like extraction wounds, uncontrolled diabetes, necrotic tissues, alcohol addiction, poor oral hygiene, immunocompromised conditions people with special care needs debilitated or mentally challenged individuals predispose develop myiasis. We hereby report case myiasis maxillary anterior region palate labial mucosa, in 16-year-old female patient who for her daily activities dependent. The diagnosis was confirmed presence pulsating lesion managed conservative suffocation therapy involving turpentine oil topical application followed mechanical removal along surgical debridement post-operative antibiotics.
